Key Insights from Proactive Mosquito Control: Managing Catch Basin Populations with Sumilarv

Urban environments, particularly those with storm drain systems, present unique challenges for mosquito control, as these areas are ideal breeding grounds for disease-transmitting mosquito species like Culex quinquefasciatus and Aedes aegypti. Traditional adulticides often fail to address the source of the problem, requiring proactive solutions like MGK’s Sumilarv® mosquito larvicide.

The non-flushing, long-residual formula is effective in high-organic, heavy-flushing environments and even under dry out and rewet conditions. In a 26-week study, Sumilarv 0.5G outperformed products like Altosid® XR briquet, achieving 100% inhibition of adult emergence. Its unique mode of action aids in preventing resistance development, making it an excellent rotational option.

Ideal for urban mosquito management, Sumilarv enhances vector control strategies by targeting populations at their source, reducing reapplication needs, and ensuring long-term effectiveness in catch basins and standing water habitats.

MGK recommends Sumilarv 0.5G for reliable and sustainable mosquito control.
