Shockwave 1 is formulated to flush and kill both flying and crawling insects by contact. While many knockdown aerosols provide quick kill with little to no residual activity, Shockwave 1’s formula includes a residual insecticide and an insect growth regulator (IGR) to help reduce future insect populations.

Shockwave 1 Flushing, Killing & Residual Aerosol contains five active ingredients:

  • Pyrethrins – provides flushing, quick knockdown and kill
  • Bifenthrin – kills insects on contact and provides residual control
  • Pyriproxyfen – Disrupts insect growth and development
  • Piperonyl butoxide (PBO) and MGK-264 – fights metabolic resistance

Juvenile hormone (JH) mimics work by imitating the natural growth hormones produced by insects. By doing so, the insect will go through additional larval stages but will never molt into the pupal stage or turn into an adult.

To have a lethal effect, the active ingredient in an insecticide needs to reach its target site within the insect. Resistant insects commonly have a heightened defense mechanism, cytochrome P450 enzymes, that attack insecticides. Synergist such as PBO and MGK-264 bind to these detoxification enzymes, allowing the insecticide to reach its target site and work more effectively.

This product will not stain water safe fabrics and surfaces. However, care should be taken to test in an inconspicuous area and observe for potential staining.
